What the course is for

This qualification prepares you to carry out basic assessments of communities, households, groups and individuals, provide basic health education and referrals for a wide range of services, and help people navigate the health and social services system.

What you will be able to do

  • Conduct community, household and individual health assessments and identify health needs and risks.
  • Promote the health of households and the individuals within them.
  • Refer people for further assessment and testing after basic screening.
  • Provide simple health interventions in a household, such as basic first aid and oral rehydration.

Why it matters
